Replacing the advertised programme due to cancellation, five members of CoL&CPS will talk about their recent trip to Sicily on a photography Masterclass pilot with Mimi Mollica (see www.mimimollica.com). We are delighted that he will be joining us.
Members are encouraged to enter two digital and two printed images into the first of this round of competitions. There is no theme, so you can enter images on any subject - do read the rules and guidance on the Competitions page of the website.
We met Sisi taking photographs at an exhibition of jazz photography and she agreed to come to tell us how her interest and career developed as a music photographer.
This is an opportunity to hear from some of our members about their recent adventures, progress or quandaries in their photographic work.
Details of where to meet and which route Susi is planning will be revealed nearer the time, but this has become a summer tradition not to be missed.
This is an opportunity to see the images chosen by people who went on the walk on August 07 - it is always fascinating to see how differently people have approached the same scenes, with a variety of cameras, lenses, angles and interpretations.
Aubrey will share his experience of working with UNRC and a project which matches refugees to host families, to produce group portraits. Some of these images were exhibited in the churchyard of St Martin-in-the-Fields earlier this year.
See the competition page of the website for details of how members can enter up to digital and two printed images.
Ben Cherry was the stills photographer on the project which had a microplane following the flight of Berwick Swans from Russia last year. He will talk us through selecting images to tell different stories, relating to our own project.
A chance to share our progress, successes and problems as we work on storytelling photo essays of our own. Peer group support at its best!
Roger was the picture editor at the Guardian for many years and has his own photography to talk about as well as his editing experience.
A chance to meet and get to know some of our newer members as they introduce themselves and their photography. In the second half, we will select entries for our competition with Hendersonville PS, North Carolina, Hands Across the Sea.
There is no theme for our third competition - up to two digital and two printed images can be submitted by members, following the rules and guidance set out on the competition page of the website.
As the first Tuesday of the month falls on New Year‘s Day this year, there won‘t be a meeting.
Please note the date - in order to avoid a meeting on New Year’s Day, the only meeting in January will be on the 15th. Bring your prints to display and discuss, your extraneous camera gear to sell or give away and your photographic NY resolutions.
Details later, but this is a project where two photographers will agree to post-process the same image in their own way and compare and contrast the results.
The last in our competition year, this is a chance to enter those images from the misty, damp days of winter. Rules and guidance as usual on the competition page of the website.
