"Current Perspectives" exhibition, 2 - 27 October 2014
"Current Perspectives" poster shows Barbican Moon by Hilary Barton
Current Perspectives was our 2014 exhibition at The Barbican Library from 2 - 27 October. It was a showcase for recent photographic work by members of City of London & Cripplegate Photographic Society.
Meet Your Neighbours by Julia McLean
One wall was taken up with a display of wonderful shots by Julia McLean. They were taken as part of "Meet Your Neighbours": an international nature photography project developed to encourage an appreciation of the wildlife within our own communities. MYN photographers now represent over 40 locations around the world!
Varied shots of London
The rest of the Exhibition had three main areas. There was a large section of London photographs as befits a London society.
The second section had shots from around the world - we are a very well-travelled bunch!
Wonderfully artistic black and white shots - the nearest ones are from our member who commutes from Paris (!), Mike Kingston
And a third section had excellent atmospheric black and white shots.
Lots of people came to see the show as it was advertised in the City of London Culture & Heritage Guide for Autumn 2014, Photomonth East London 2014, on the Barbican's own website,
and in The Londonist, and many photos were sold.
