'Hands Across The Sea' 2017

A friendly competition between CoL&CPS and Camera Club of Hendersonville in North Carolina, USA, led by our peripatetic members Susi Luard and Greg Lambert.  Susi is lead person for London and Greg for Hendersonville.

Members of both clubs were invited to submit digital images in four broad categories:

  -  Landscape
  -  Dereliction
  -  Abstract
  -  Family

Each club then chose 20 images (5 in each category) to be submitted to the online competition. The competition was judged by William Cheung FRPS, the editor of Photography News who was our guest speaker earlier this year

Huge bragging rights to the winning club!

The results are in and the winner is.........................

After a closely fought battle the pictures submitted by Camera Club of Hendersonville and the City of London & Cripplegate Photographic Society have been judged and scored by Will Cheung FRPS who is a prominent photographer and magazine editor.

Family (by Alan Larsen)
In the Family category the winner was  the City of London & Cripplegate PS for this image by Alan Larsen which scored 19/20.

In the Abstract, Dereliction and Landscape categories the three winning images were by Camera Club of Hendersonville.

After all the scores for all the submitted images were tallied the final totals were:
CCOH: 335
COL&CPS: 323

Therefore Camera Club of Hendersonville is declared the winner of this challenge. You can see the Hendersonville images on their website  and you can see slideshows of our images below.

A rematch is planned for next year and CCOH can nominate the 4 overall categories and can select how the images will be judged.

Thank you to all who participated.
