These are competitions amongst Society members and are judged by a variety of experienced judges or professional photographers. There is a mix of open and themed competitions, and images are marked out of 20. Any member can enter and judging takes place anonymously, so it's a great forum for everyone to have their images constructively critiqued.
The total scores from the four print and DPI (digital projected image) competition rounds held each season decide who are our "top" photographers in each category.

Round four - now open for entries!
The fourth and final round of our 2019/20 competition is now open for entries. The theme is “Belonging”. Judging will take place on Tuesday 3rd March at the Society's regular venue. The deadline for submissions is midnight Saturday 29th February.

Please note that the rules about naming image files have changed since the last round, to enable titles to be projected alongside the images on the competition night. We have also relaxed the rules about borders on images.

Round one: 18th June 2019:
The first round of the 2019-20 season was held on 18th June, judged by Jay Charnock. The round was "open" - meaning there was no set theme. A report on the judging session is available here:
